The Man, The Myth, The Legend.
Larry L Zehm spent the majority of his life living for God and staying true to a way of life that molded and shaped him into the strong willed, hardworking man that many knew him to be.
Born in Long Bottom, Ohio on May 27, 1939, he grew up in God fearing family with several brothers and one sister. He never wavered throughout his life growing up, he loved adventure. He loved people and much of his life was filled with giving to others and helping anyone he could.
His trade was working in manufacturing and construction, which he was very skilled at. He could draw up a set of blueprints, build a house from foundation up, put in electrical, plumbing, etc naturally without a beat.
He fathered 4 boys and 1 girl during his life and though he sought to instill a path for each of us, he allowed us to create each of our own journeys. Throughout his life he reached for each of us children and encouraged us to strive to do our very best in everything we touched.
He had a strong work ethnic like never seen before in a man and tried to always out do himself in each and every project he set his hands to. It was this strong work ethnic that carried him throughout his life and allowed for many life experiences, some good, some bad, but always challenging him to go the extra mile and succeed in every path he chose in life. There was very little he didn’t succeed in his life and he could out work any normal man.
He loved to travel, go places he’d never been, loving people along the way and instilling his life’s values to anyone that would listen. Though he didn’t have much education, he had alot of life experience. He loved living life to its fullest and strived to never disrespect anyone and to love and treat others way he wished to be treated.
He was an encourager to many and allowed his “light” to shine to many around him giving them hope in darkness. He impacted people throughout east coast such as, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and Florida. And treasured the opportunity to learn about Philippines and it’s people, helping churches there.
Larry L Zehm passed from this earth on March 25, 2021. He will never be forgotten. It was truly an honor to grow up learning about my dad, what he stood for and experiencing the many “life lessons” he taught and gave me many opportunities throughout my life to understand and deal respectfully with others. He was unmatched by anyone I’ve ever known. His legacy will continue….
“You only take one thing with you when you go, and that’s your name. Keep a good name.” – Larry L Zehm
