Coming home to the base of Parkersburg, West Virginia, returned me home to my “roots’ and inspiration of my father’s legacy. I cherished everything he taught me, including his work ethnic and his love and respect for others.
I was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on December 30, 1965, one of 2 elder brothers, one younger brother and a younger sister. I gave my life to God at 18 years of age, which still remains to this day an important factor in my life. I learned from young age by watching my father push himself often to his limits and learned while growing up to much same thing myself. I truly love a good challenge and the sense of accomplishment.
I remember as a young child on a winter day before going to school, writing three words in the snow, “Yes”, “No” and “Go”. It might have been funny to some on that day, but to me it speaks volumes of how I’ve live my life. Life decisions have to be answered with a “Yes” or “No”. You have to make decisions, whether they are good or bad. And of course, once you make them “Go!” like never before and hope you’ve made the right ones!
I love education and strived to go the extra mile and graduated high school June 12, 1984, including attending Chesterfield Technical Center, which started my interest in computer field. I enrolled in John Tyler Community College in 1987 and three years later Graduated with Business Management Degree in 1990. It was my first experience with learning the business world, which I would spend the next 10-15 years in retail.
I would return several years later to complete another Degree in Computer Information Technology in 2006, where I later had the opportunity to work for Tech Solutions Group, Dunnellon, FL, Arc Marion, Ocala, FL and Taylor, Bean & Whitaker, Ocala, FL. Each of these companies started what I would call my “foundation” and later my love for Information Technology. I had the opportunity to enhance partnerships I formed with people from all walks of life and even instilled a true respectable “work ethnic”, much like my father’s.
It was the opportunity I had at Salem Web Network in 2010 that ignited another return to college and a degree in Multimedia Technology with Web Design Emphasis, I acquired in 2010. From there I sky rocketed to amazing opportunities at Amazon, however I discoverd my love for people and education and enjoyed brief stint with Champions – supervising some 60+ children in 2014, and later becoming pastor of church plant, Apostolic Family Life Center in 2017.
I also had the pleasure and unique opportunity to work for Florida Mentor, New Horizons Village, Lecanto, FL in 2018 with assisting and training disabled clients in residential setting. Later that year, I started my first graphic design studio in 2018, DKZ Designs LLC, where I was able to introduce my love for graphic designing and creating masterpieces over the worldwide web. It was dual role working 2-3 opportunities at same time that assisted me in discovering my true calling.
It was in October 2019, in Frostburg, Maryland that I founded and built Zmedia Corporation – a media company that focused in web/graphic designing, telecommunications and streaming television. Zmedia Corporation operated throughout quite a challenging time through Covid Epidemic, the passing of my father in March 25, 2021, which was a period of time I discovered I needed a much “reboot” in my life.
I’ve always lived a fast paced, challenging life always seeking out every opportunity I could get my hands on. Often times, not stopping long enough to enjoy life to its fullest. I discovered what was missing in my life and decided it was time to give honor to where honor was due. I shut down Zmedia Corporation in October 2022 and breathed a new vision, one that would continue to build upon my father’s legacy, establish my own and impart onto my son, Caleb B Zehm, who would carry on and carve out his own path from where I leave off.
Hence, the birth of The Zehm Organization LLC., The legacy continues… All that the Zehm name stands for, those who’ve carved the path before us and the ones who now much carry on and wave the banner high. I wish to continue to bring out the very essence of what a name stands for and as next generation carry it on and inspire many generations after me to continue seeking out all that it stands for and how it has impacted the world.
It is for this very reason, I am focused to bring you the very best work I can produce and respect and honor each and every one of you I come in contact with. It’s what my father did and its what I will continue to do. I appreciate every opportunity placed before me and will promise my very best each and every time. I humbly ask you to join me on the journey and experience the world of TZO!
